Travel Bucket List
Travelling is one of my passions. I love experiencing new places and taking in new scenery. A lot of my friends are going to be jet setting off on holiday in a month or so to start the summer break and they all have different destinations in mind. I always love to know other people's travel aspirations to see what they're interested in seeing and why.
I know some of my top dream destinations have been there for a long time! Others are more recent but are still a part of my travel bucket list. Let me know if you're from or have been to any of these places! Are any of my dream destinations the same as yours?
I have had an OBSESSION (it really does demand caps lock) with Ireland for so long! The greenery, the people, the music, the food, the history! Everything about Ireland is just begging me to hop on a plane and head off on an adventure. I don't even know if I need say more ; ) No other destination has been able to knock this bad boy off the top spot for some while and I doubt anything ever will until I get there!
A hop, skip, and a jump from my prime destination of choice, I think I was first captured by England's charm when I was in grade five and we started learning the history of the royal family. From that moment, I was hooked! Not only did I get an awesome love for English history but it also sparked my love of monarchical history as well. I would love to visit London and also visit Sherwood Forest and find 'Robin Hood's Tree' : )
This is probably half because it looks absolutely stunning and half because of my fangirl love for The Lord of the Rings
. There is no way I could get all the way to New Zealand and not reenact a walking journey at some of those famous filming sights or visit the Shire.
I've been studying the Italian language for about 2 years now at university and I would love the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture to improve my language skills. I think visiting the Vatican would also be a cool experience and walking around Pompeii would be a phenomenal trip. My friend Melissa came back from Italy last summer and ever since she showed me her photos, I am convinced this is a must go to place.
I think if you guys haven't figured it out yet, you will by the end of this post that I am a huge history nerd, haha! The Palace of Versailles is architecturally one of my favourite palaces and to be able to see it in person and feel the history would be spectacular. My friend went for a visit to the palace last summer but didn't go inside because it was crowded! I couldn't believe it! I would stay forever if they let you. I would also want to visit Beynac-et-Cazenac which is where they filmed the 2000 film Chocolat
What do you think of my top five?
